WASPADA ONLINE BANDA ACEH – The Islam clerics appraised that if the Islam Sharia is implemented totally in the daily life, it would be a panacea to decreases or prevents the HIV AIDS’ spread especially in Aceh Province. “The disease which impacts the human body immune system is because of free sex and drugs. So one of the curer to prevents it, is by return to the life which guided by the religion,” Tgk. Faisal Aly, general secretary of Dayah Aceh Ulama Association said. This was delivered in response to the World AIDS Day on 1 December. Faisal was concerned to the spread of the disease at the Aceh Province which entitled The Mecca’s Veranda. The prevention measures undertaken by the provincial government appraised as not at its best. “It can be seen from the Islam Sharia enforcement which seems start to walk in place, doubtful in implementing the Islam Sharia rules at this rencong (Aceh’s traditional weapon) land,” he said. One of the examples is the sharia legal product such as the Qanun (regional regulation) on Jinayah Law and Jinayah law procedural haven’t yet signed up by the Governor Irwandi Yusuf although had been approved by the legislation. “Despites within the rules (Qanun) there are clear measures to prevent the widespread of wanton practices in Aceh. Thus I’m appraising that there is no determination from the government to implement the law to prevent the widespread of sharia violation practices,” Aly said. The Aceh government, in his opinion, is only acted as data collector of how many HIV/AIDS cases that occurred in Aceh each year, other than distributing brochure or banner about the danger of the disease. “If only that, I’m sure none of the people is scared. But let me reaffirm that one of the proper ways to prevent the widespread of HIV/AIDS disease is by sharia law enforcement,” he said. The Aceh Provincial AIDS Tackling Commission (KPAP) had listed 40 HIV/AIDS patients in 16 regencies-municipalities since 2004 to October 2009. Most of the patients were male with 63% of total patients. Nine of them were found on 2009, three of them infected by sexual intercourse and the rest were injection drug user.
